There was already plenty of stuff starting to come through yesterday. This rain will open the floodgates.

Squelch, squelch.

Yes, I can confirm it was a tad damp today. We've had plenty of torrential rain over the last few weeks, I was kept up all night a week back by the sound of rain hammering against the roof and windows.

Burnham Beeches on sunday was rather a damp squib, not a lot about. The New Forest on Saturday was quite good, few large boletes, not so many agarics, but some nice species about such as Cortinarius violaceus and a possible C. rubellus. My feeling is that the season proper is starting.
