Reddish fungus

I am not sure about this, was wondering originally, if this was Postia placenta (but no longer think that). I didn't take a sample as I forgot to take containers out with me.

It was on a old stump (conifer, I think).
Kinda resupinate and somewhat flexible, almost rubbery. The underside had a thin irregular white/cream layer, not too unlike an tomentum.

Comments please?

Edit: It has been suggested to my colleague that this might be a myxo, though I thought the bodies were much too tough.
