New record for Suffolk

Postby Neil » Sun Jul 10, 2011 12:00 am

I can confirm Suffolk's first official record of Sarcodontia crocea, growing around a damaged branch on a live and quite old cooking apple tree in the back garden of a cottage near Sudbury.
I went out to collect a sample today and to take photos, but I am sure I have come across this several times before in Suffolk, either too high up in the tree to reach, or else just something I knew at the time I'd never be able to identify.
