Sources for mycology books

Sources for mycology books

Postby Leif Goodwin » Mon Oct 04, 2010 8:57 pm

Just a quick note that if anyone is looking for specialist mycology books, Andreas Gminder, who is known to some of us on this forum, will supply books at a reasonable price:

http://www.pilzkurs.de/

And here is the link for specialist books:

http://www.pilzkurs.de/buecher_fachliteratur.html

He is German and fortunately for some of us he writes good English. I have absolutely no financial connection with Andreas!

Unfortunately Pendleside Books have stopped selling mycology books.

An alternative UK source is NHBS, although they do seem rather expensive.

Just to add to this - Summerfield Books should also be considered - they have a good range and were very much cheaper than NHBS for the recent revised Hygrocybe book by Boertmann. (Summerfield £38, NHBS £53).

Another good source is Pemberley Books. http://www.pemberleybooks.co.uk They started out as insect specialists but have a much broader remit these days. Their website is as boring as Summerfield's though.

Dear Leif,

thanks a lot for advertising my book selling :D

We have from exactly NOW on an internet shop, so that it is much more confortable then the old site. So, those who are interested might have a look 8-)

http://www.myko-shop.de

There is also an english version, but I have to admit that we have not yet translated all book descriptions etc. into english but only parts.

What concerns the S/H costs, I always try to find t´he cheapest way. But the store software doen's enable us to use too many different costs, but on the other hand the law forces us to give prices for S/H. So the given S/H prices are some kind of average, usually it will be cheaper then told. If you need to know the exact amount, please contact me by mail.

thank you and best wishes,
Andreas
