Data and Reference Services (Members Only)

The Association has recently expanded its data services. Extracts from the 1.2 million or so data records of the newly renamed Fungus Records Database of Britain and Ireland (BMS managed) are now available to ABFG member groups on CD in MS Excel or MS Access although MS Excel is generally easier to use. These filtered datasets are provided free of charge and their distribution is restricted to member groups. They contain all local county record data that is not subject to distribution restrictions, although if application is made in writing, the request will be referred back to the owners of the intellectual property for permission to supply copyrighted details. Please submit your group requests to the ABFG where they will be processed promptly.

The Association offers an additional range of data accessories to members and member groups. The Agaric Checklist 2003 is shortly to be updated but the current version is still available to individual members on CD. The Phonetics and Meanings Dictionary is also available.

The ABFG Phonetics and Meanings Dictionary is available on CD and includes English meanings for almost all the genus and species names in Latin that you may come across. The same screen also gives the correct phonetic pronunciation for the words in Common English Latin. The CD runs in MS Excel.

The ABFG Agaric Checklist, published in 2003, provides an indispensible reference source to many thousands of fungi comprising the Agaricales. All species currently included in the British Checklist of these families are detailed, with summaries of records and Vice County appearances since records began. Like the Phonetics Meanings Dictionary it runs in MS Excel.

Please note: The Association of British Fungus Groups is not a trading company and supplies are therefore restricted to members of the Association as exclusive membership benefits. To join or find more details please return to the Home page.
