| ABFG members will often be happy to give illustrated talks to other organisations. We regularly get together for such occasions with local horticultural societies and other voluntary bodies including natural history societies, ramblers, WI and so on. If you would like us to try and arrange for one of our members to give such a talk, please contact either Hazel Malcolm or Michael Jordan at the ABFG. The theme of these talks is not so much a pictorial travelogue of pretty pictures but an introduction to what fungi are, the role they play in the environment and how they function. Most people understand the rudiments of 'green plant' biology but probably know very little about the workings of mushrooms and toadstools. The Association benefits from a very large collection of digital images, including many taken under the microscope and these can be assembled according to the interests of the audience. We also take out groups including those mentioned above and given their members an opportunity to sample field mycology for the first time.
