Do any of you guys use Plaqsearch (I've been told to only use the solution, not the tablet form) and what are your views, pros and cons?

Hi Roy
Yes I use it, it can produce some good results. I have not tried to be scientific and see which stain works best with what but it is well worth a try.

... and would you wash it out with ammonia before applying the cover slip , assuming it is tolerant of it. I was just wondering if it tolerant of the usual, NaOH, KOH etc, etc. I suppose I'll find out soon enough, but it would be nice to be aware beforehand. Can't seem to find any info on its usage, apart from the fact it is in vogue at the moment.

I just use it as a mountant without any prewash.
