Tnis one had me stumped. I was looking to get some decent photos of Stereum species and chose this specimen but the flesh showed no colour change on bruising and the spores were rather small. Microscopy did not fit a Xylobolus species either. I eventually came across Laxitextum bicolor. Oddly enough I made two collections, one in the New Forest, and one near Tadley, despite this being rarely recorded. So perhaps this is an overlooked species.
